9-1-1 Calltaker Job Description

We are looking for qualified individuals to join our dedicated team of 9-1-1 Calltakers to help us improve the lives of the citizens we serve during times of crisis or emergency situations. Huntsville-Madison County 9-1-1 is focused on: Responder safety, caller safety and offender/suspect apprehension.

9-1-1 Calltaker Job Requirements

Education

High School Diploma or GED.

Typing Test

35 words per minute with a 90% accuracy.

Criticall Test

Computerized applicant testing for the calltaker position. Criticall measures primary knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for the job for which you are applying. Applicants must score 85% or higher.

Personality Assessments

Complete a comprehensive personality profile assessment. Applicants must score between 8 and 24 points.

Background Information Package

Each candidate must submit to a background check.

Pre-employment Physical and Drug Screen

Each candidate must submit to a physical exam and a preemployment drug screen (6-month).
